I love my hobby

I cannot decide which is the better photo so, since I am so proud of this finish, I'll post two pictures. It took a very long time to do this project but I have to say the result is worth the effort!

We haven't left for Florida yet but we'll be on our way tomorrow or Wednesday for sure. If there is anyone who needs something from the shop, just e-mail me or phone the house and leave a message and we will arrange for you to get whatever you need. Our house sitter is very accommodating and is willing to get together with customers who need supplies.

Look at my great gift!

My nephew Clancy and his wife Lisa and their three gorgeous daughters stopped in for a visit yesterday on their way home from visiting Lisa's family for Christmas. They joined Bruce and Luci and Dan and me for dinner. They brought me this beautiful photograh of the girls with the pictures I cross stitched for each them. I was so touched that I choked up and tears came to my eyes. They are darling children and we love them to pieces.
This phot0 will be displayed proudly and prominently in the shop!

After finishing the William Morris bag, I concentrated exclusively for a couple of weeks on the stained glass landscape. It is progressing well. After Christmas I started something new!!! The latest project is the Sampler from JCS magazine (Jan/ Feb and Mar/April 2009) designed by Sharon Cohen of the Nostalgic Needle. I am using the recommended GAST threads and doing it on...drum roll please ... 40 count fabric!
So far I have the first band completed and I am loving the look! Pictures will be forthcoming.

Landscape is back

I have been working on Froth and Bubble this past week but yesterday when I discovered that I had made the same mistake in the third flower that I had made in one of the previous two at the retreat, I decided that it was time to move on to another project.

Moving on meant moving back to my Stained Glass landscape. It was a good decision because I really did not seem to be getting anywhere on Froth and Bubble...of course when you spend as much time undoing your mistakes as actually stitching, you do tend to bog down.
Tomorrow I will get back at Jeannette Douglas's Stitching album. I am enjoying these pages in spite of the black fabric!

What a week!!

First of all we go back to last Thursday when this article appeared in the local newspaper. Needless to say, you cannot buy publicity like that!

Then on Friday evening I gathered with a bunch of my closest friends and stitched my brains out for the entire weekend. Well OK we stopped every once in a while to eat well and to laugh heartily but mostly we stitched. I will post some pictures in my next blog. We also had a fabulous meal on Saturday prepared by my dear husband and served by he and his excellent helper Amanda...more about the meal and the of course more pictures along with the getaway snaps...in my next blog.

This was where I started on my Kappie Originals landscape on Friday...
And this is where I stopped on Sunday. I had hoped to finish the page and get it backstitched but alas that was not to be....maybe this week.
And if all that wasn't enough good stuff I received an e-mail on Sunday from a member of the Cataraqui Guild inquiring if Knowledge and Needles was interested in having a Boutique at the annual EGA Seminar which is being held in Kingston this spring! Am I interested?....I would have written her a cheque on the spot! and said so in my return e-mail.
So to all of you who were so sympathetic and comforting when I had the shoplifting incident I have to say thank you because I am sure that all the postitive vibes and good thoughts that you all sent my way paid off with all this abundance of good news.
