We lost our Mollie this morning. All I can say is that she was the best dog ever and we will miss her.

Sheaf Stitch

First I will share Macy's latest act of destruction... Alas the red monkey is no more. We have no problem with her tearing the monkey apart. If you look at the photo you will see some mats covering the edge of the carpet...they are there to cover the edges that she chewed a few days ago. We still have mats over that area but now to protect the newly repaired   edge of the carpet.  Toys are good to chew...carpets are bad to chew.

And now on to the sheaf stitches.  There are 142 sheaf stitches and 2 half sheaf stitches done here in DMC 781 and then some special crosses  and then 142  full sheaf stitches and 2 half sheaf stitches done in DMC  780. These diagonals are getting longer and taking longer to stitch with each new colour.  But I still love the piece and am becoming quite proficient at all these specialty  stitches. I have not done so many since  I worked on Jeannette Douglas' My Stitching Album.

My latest projects

Twisted Band sampler from Northern Expressions

My latest pair of socks
And a pair of socks in progress.

Alas my rotation plans have all gone out the window and my quilt appliqué has slowed significantly.
On the up side I am way ahead on my ornaments for next Christmas!

Some Nashville Ornaments

Since finishing Giovanni's Alphabet, I did not really get back to my stitching for quite awhile. The prospect of going back at one of my larger projects was not appealing  so I coasted. When I got back from Nashville with all these lovely small ornament type patterns I  was able to stitch again.
These three red birds are from Myrtle Grace designs and were fun to work on.

This one is stitched with Valdani's new Australian Wool which I won in a draw. I wouldn't use it again but I like the bird.

This bird is stitched with white perle cotton...I love that it is so white.

I stitched this one with PB10 Treasure braid. You can sort of see the sparkles.

This is Spiral Pig from Sam Sarah designs. I am not too happy with the colour I picked for the larger wing but I do not have my full range of colours here and I had to make do.
